Lawrence S. Wexler

President & Chief Executive Officer, Turning Point Brands

Larry Wexler is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Turning Point Brands. During his 13 years with the company, Larry served in several executive roles for the company’s operating subsidiaries including as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of National Tobacco Company. Larry is also a board member of the Tobacco Merchants Association.

Prior to joining the company, Larry spent five years as a consultant to a number of emerging market, communication and financial companies, advising on marketing, financial and strategic matters. Prior to that experience, Larry was employed for 21 years by Phillip Morris, USA, where he held a number of key leadership roles in Finance, Marketing, and Sales. His last position was as Senior Vice President Finance, Planning and Information Services.

Larry holds an undergraduate degree from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

James w. Dobbins

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

James has been the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the company since 1999, Secretary since 2002. In addition to those duties, James assumed responsibility for the Human Resources department in 2012. During his 16 years with the company, James has created a law department that covers the fundamental legal needs of the company, anticipates issues, and responds to new regulatory and market challenges.

Prior to joining the company, James was in private practice in North Carolina and held various positions in the legal department of the Liggett Group Inc. His last position at the Liggett Group Inc. was as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Prior to joining Liggett Group, James served as a litigation associate for Webster & Sheffield and a law clerk to the Honorable J. Daniel Mahoney, United States Circuit Judge for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

James hold an A.B. from Drew University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.

Mark A. Stegeman

Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Mark joined Turning Point Brands as Chief Financial Officer in 2015. Prior to joining the company, Mark spent 15 years in various financial leadership roles at Brown-Forman and La-Z-Boy Incorporated, both NYSE-listed branded global consumer products companies.

His other experiences include corporate and investment banking with UBS, Citibank/Salomon Smith Barney, and Key Bank. Mark started his financial career with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mark holds both a B.B.A in Accounting and an M.B.A. from the University of Toledo. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Cash Manager.

James M. Murray

Senior Vice President, Business Planning

Jim is the Senior Vice President of Business Planning. During his 15 years with the company, Jim has held key leadership positions in both Sales and Marketing, first as Vice President of Marketing and then as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Prior to joining the company, Jim held various Marketing and Sales roles with Brach’s Confections and the American Tobacco Company. Prior to leaving the American Tobacco Company, Jim was Vice President of Premium Brands. Jim started his career with Nielsen Market Research.

He has been a guest lecturer in economics at both Fairfield University and Fordham University and also taught Excel for Business at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Jim holds a B.S. in Marketing from Fairfield University and an M.B.A. from Fordham University School of Business.

Charles H. Melander

Senior Vice President, Operations & Quality Assurance

Chuck is the Senior Vice President of Operations and Quality Assurance. During his nine years with the company, Chuck has held various key leadership positions in Product Integrity and Operations, including Vice President of Product Integrity and Vice President of Product Integrity and General Manager, Louisville Operations.

Prior to joining the company, Chuck spent 22 years with Swedish Match North America and its subsidiary, the Pinkerton Group. Before leaving Swedish Match North America, Chuck was the Vice President of Research & Development and Corporate Quality Assurance, where he was responsible for all new product development and product improvement projects and initiating and monitoring corporate quality assurance programs including six sigma, cost of quality, and lean manufacturing programs. Chuck also served on the worldwide Scientific Advisory committee for Swedish Match.

Chuck holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from Centre College and an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University Graduate School of Management.

Brittani N. Cushman

Vice President, External Affairs

Brittani is Vice President of External Affairs, responsible for lobbying efforts and management of regulatory issues at both the federal and state levels. She also serves as consultant to the Sales and Marketing teams regarding new product launches, sales programs, and marketing policies. Brittani joined the company in 2014.

Brittani currently serves on the National Association of Tobacco Outlets Board of Directors, Pipe Tobacco Council Board of Directors, and the Vapor Technology Association Board of Directors. She also participates in a number of other industry trade associations, including the Cigar Association of America, Coalition of Independent Tobacco Manufacturers of America, and the Small Business Cigar Coalition.

Prior to joining the company, Brittani spent five years at Xcaliber International, Ltd., L.L.C., where she was most recently the General Counsel, responsible for all legal affairs.

Brittani holds a B.S.B.A. in Business Management from the University of Tulsa and a J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law.

Graham A. Purdy

Senior Vice President, Sales

Graham is the Senior Vice President of Sales, responsible for leading, motivating and setting strategy for the Sales organization. During his 11 years at the company, Graham initiated and deployed a world-class performance management system and sales monitoring and tracking system to capitalize on macro and micro market opportunities. As a result, company SKU’s per store and overall store penetration are up significantly during his tenure.

Prior to joining the company, Graham spent 7 ½ years at Phillip Morris, USA, where he served in various Sales and Sales Management positions.

Graham holds an A.B. from California State University, Chico.

Michael G. Terry

Senior Vice President, marketing

Michael is the Senior Vice President of Marketing, responsible for the development of brand strategies and tactics across the company’s broad portfolio of brands. During his nine years with the company, Michael has repositioned existing brands and developed Marketing mix strategies for a number of successful new product initiatives.

Prior to joining the company, Michael held various Brand Management and Business Development positions in both the tobacco and food industries. Michael’s experience includes: US Smokeless Tobacco Company, The Dannon Company, Tropicana and Planters & LifeSavers Company.

Michael holds an A.B. from Bowdoin College and an M.B.A. from The University of Michigan School of Business.
